Dennis E. "Denny" George, age 73, of Bloomsburg, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 22, 2024, while working with his livestock, where he loved to spend his time. Denny was a resident of his home in North Centre Township for over 51 years in the home he built.

He was born on Thursday, April 26, 1951 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Paul E. and Carrie Arlene (Adams) George. Throughout his younger years, Dennis attended the Southern Columbia Area Schools, and later graduated from the Patton Masonic School for Boys, Elizabethtown, in 1970.

On January 6, 1973, Dennis married his loving wife, the former Cynthia M. Eckrote. In his early working years Denny worked in construction and later as a farmer, which was his passion. He was a member of Christian Covenant Community, Jonestown. Denny enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, camping, farming, gardening, and doing carpentry. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Denny was also preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Artley, Pauline Breisch, and Donna Dunkle.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 51 years, Cynthia M. George, a son; Jared P. George and his wife Jessica of Bloomsburg, a daughter, Megan D. Zimmerman and her husband Nevin of Danville, five grandchildren, Kennedy M. George, Emily G. Zimmerman, Troy L. Zimmerman, Liam R. George, Leah R. Zimmerman, a sister, Audrey Bartlow and her husband Charles of Binghamton, NY, a brother-in-law, Raymond "Smokey" Dunkle of Catawissa, two sisters-in-law, Karen Krum and her husband Gary of Catawissa, Rebecca Fedder and her husband Rodney of Bloomsburg, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his family, he will be missed by his fur babies, Layla (Boston Terrier) and Cubby (Miniature Poodle).

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg.

Funeral Services will begin on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Pastor Jesse Shingler, officiating. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the George family.
